I was thinking of working my way through the members list and sending fillers to all of the members to use. Is this the idea of the Buzz Bags or are we to wait until fillers are requested and then send them through?

I was thinking of sending a general email to all the members asking if they’d like to send me some fillers and I’d reciprocate.

Or maybe I should start small and select a few people and work my way from there.

I saw a pic of your Buzz Bag Fillers, Kylie, and they look great!

I’ve got a few done up, but need to get some more bags! I’ve got a few interesting items to add to the bags along with my business cards.

Do we just send fillers to those on the list or would you contact them first and see if they want the fillers?? I’m in 2 minds about which way to do it.

Question - My business is in direct competition with some of the other membe businesses. As the number of members grow this will become common, I think. Is there anyone who has an onjection to including promo material from their competitors?

Hi Everyone, it is totally upto you whether or not you contact members regarding your fillers. I encourage our members to contact each other and work together to grow each other’s businesses. It is not necessary however to contact another member to ask whether they would like your items - the idea is that we all openly accept each other’s items and use them to spread the buzz.

In regard to Anne’s query regarding competitors. My suggestion would be that you only send your fillers to those businesses on the list that are not in direct competition with you.

Although my thoughts on this are that competition is healthy and we each offer something that is unique to us, I understand that others will have reservations about distributing a competitors products to their customers.

I have changed the members directory so that it is now in categories which should make it easier to seperate those businesses which sell similar products to yourself. If anyone has any suggestions how I can make this better please feel free to contact me.

Anne emailed me today to talk about this and we are both happy to promote each other’s business although we fall into the same category as you said we both have products unique to us.
I think that the categories is a great idea as it lets you see hwat kind of a market you will be targeting. Maybe if you want to add your promo material to someone in your category you could email first to make sure it is OK with them and then for other categories just go for it and send them through.
I wouldn’t want to go to the effort of getting fillers ready and posting them to find that the receiver was reluctant to use them.
